It's that time of year again...

And we're looking for a new project to fund. We've got one lined up for the first R30k; now we need someone who can use the other R70k.

A post-mortem

Okay, so it's been an incredible few days and we're busy tallying up the final totals. Please be patient, though - as the joke goes, there are three kinds of journalists: those who can count and those who can't. In fact, there is no one on board this campaign who did not do Standard Grade maths (and one of us even failed that). So the bean-counting may take us a little longer than it takes you. We'll let you know when it's all done, promise.

We're also waiting to hear from the gentleman who ran the Comrades yesterday - and will keep you updated on that as soon as we hear.

And last but absolutely not least, an unbelievably, incredibly, enormously huge and splendiferous thank you to Miriam Mannak, our PR and journalism superstar, who helped secure so much exposure for the campaign. We are in your debt for a very, very long time.

We haven't yet finalised the lineup, but we have a fundraising comedy show coming up with some BIG names. We can't release details yet as we still need to confirm dates, times, venues and participation, but keep your eyes peeled. We can't tell you exactly who's going to be there yet, but we can tell you it's going to be huge!

Simple pleasures

In between the absolutely amazing news of yesterday, a very cool (small) incident:

Having breakfast at the gym, and hearing two unknown men talking at the next table about the fundraising for Saartjie Baartman. I didn't say anything, just beamed into my salmon trout.
